Special services are held throughout the year:

Ash Wednesday
An evening service in the Spring, held usually in Faith Chapel. Characterized by solemnity and quiet reflection, worshipers may receive the imposition of ashes on their foreheads to symbolize repentance and renewal of faith.

Maundy Thursday
An evening service on the Thursday of Holy Week (the week leading up to Easter), held sometimes in the church garden (depending on weather conditions). Communion is served as worshipers meditate on the love Christ calls us to have for one another. The term "maundy" comes from the Latin, mandatum, meaning "commandment." It is the word used in the Latin translation of John 13:34: "A new command [mandatum] I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

Good Friday
An evening service held on the Friday of Holy Week (the week leading up to Easter), held in the Sanctuary. The service features an extended presentation by the Sanctuary Choir, which helps worshipers contemplate the Passion of Christ.

Serendipity Sunday
The only morning service held on the first Sunday in May takes place in the Sanctuary, as the children in our church's music program lead the whole congregation in worship.

Service for Wholeness
The only morning service held either on the first Sunday in August or the first Sunday in September takes place in the Sanctuary. Musical styles are blended, communion is served, and elders are in position to pray with individual worshipers for wholeness and healing and to anoint them with oil.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
A late afternoon service held in the Sanctuary on the Eve of Christmas. Carols and lessons often characterize this warm and inviting celebration, and the Sanctuary Choir sings one or more anthems. A nativity tableau presented by the youth of the church becomes the centerpiece for the concluding candlelight ceremony.
